Cleaning the oven

We are traveling in our 1998 HR. Our stove is a normal 3-burner 1 oven unit. Wedgewood MPD 56208.
My wife wants to clean the oven but is concerned about using a commercial oven cleaner. It looks like a normal porcelain finish to me, but she is wondering.
Anyone having done this? Thanks in advance.

You must be 'dyslexic' as that stuff is WD40

SO WD having to clean is still OK-----Wifey DEAR

  • Granddaughters made pizza in our oven to surprise us, the regular easy off fume free stuff and lots of elbow grease worked well. Did turn off the propane, and avoided the pilot assembly as much as possible.
  • Normal oven cleaner will work but best to avoid the burned and pilot light assemble. And as mentioned turn off the propane and clean the oven cold.
  • Thank you Bill,
Got the stuff from Camping World!! Now we just need the green moon.
I was going to use the normal stuff, but wifey asked me to post. And of course you know :When mom ain;t happy ain't nobody happy"
Thanks for the funny response though.
  • You can go to Camping world and by this super RV oven cleaner in a 2oz bottle for 29.99 (it takes 4 bottles to clean the oven) wait until the green side of the moon is showing before it will work. Or use what you use at home. :B :)
