C'mon back, honey; Give it some gas!

Having flipped a boat once I know that ingesting water in a running engine can result in a broken piston. I have to assume that the engine was running at the time and that trying to compress water in a diesel piston is not going to end well.
I guess the old saying is true...."Objects in your mirror may be closer than they appear".
