Just curious if there is a reason for the kitchens to be on the curbside?
On the sales brochure from my clipper (back in 1975), Irv Perch stated that the kitchen is at the back by the door so that Mom can watch the kids in the campsite while she's cooking. I would guess that's why kitchens tend to be on the curbside - it was traditionally a "positive feature" for an RV and even with the advent of "retiree RVs", the manufacturers still do it by default.
Also, my dinette is on the driver's side, but I have large picture windows on both sides and the back and the windshield in front, so I'm not relegated to looking at the neighbors while I eat. Nowadays, the windows have shrunk a lot in size - so that layout where you used to be able to eat at the dinette and look out three or four directions now forces you to look out just the one. The manufacturers seems to have modified the views, but not the layout to work with the new views.
