Collision with Tree

So I backed into a tight campground with my 32 foot Newmar RV, and although I new I'd brushed a few tree limbs, felt it went well. Until I got home and discovered a small branch impaled on the top of the side wall. Not in the roof, but the metal curve just beneath the roof. Called insurance but until the adjuster get out to view it, is there a way to protect it from the rain? BIt of a tear, about 12 inches long. I am not sure if I can remove the branch and patch with tape until adjuster gets to it, or if I should try something else. ANy thoughts?

    how about that Flex Tape advertised on TV? if it can seal a boat it should be able to seal your RV.

    can you cut the branch and put duct tape over it??

    Take plenty of detailed pictures, remove the offending object and use whatever means to protect your investment. If you don't like that idea then you can cover your RV with some of those big blue tarps you see covering the roof of a home after a tornado or hurricane but that requires you secure it somehow without doing additional damage.

    This! and it isn't just the silver dict tape, this is the stuff you can use outside.
    Or you could use window flashing tape.
    Both will protect it indefinitely.

    ETERNABOND tape? Its more of a permanent fix. If looking for temp fix until "professional" repair, other suggestions should work.

    I always keep some eternabond tape in the RV for emergency repairs.

    Have carried what started out as a 100' x 4" roll for 15 years, I have used it once to cover a 6"-8" tear in an awning. But I've used it on other peoples RV's and have gave them pieces to help with covering damage. Probably have 20' left.

    IT depends on how much protection you want.. Duct tape is a good short term, Gorilla tape (Duct tape on steroids) longer.. Eterna-bond is a FIX.

    RV stores will have 11x11 Eternabond patches.
