Combo Washer/Dryer, is this right?

Great information. I think after reading between the lines and between them, a combo although tolerable, is not the first choice if you had a choice. I'm going to contact the dealer to find out what they would charge to convert the closet above the combo to allowing for a stackable washer and dryer.

We may want to full time and I can't think of too many other things that would really get on my wife's nerves. Small loads, 2 hour loads and wrinkles would not be to my benefit.

If I could get the job done for a couple grand I'd look at it as a bargain knowing the alternative from my wife. I'll keep the couch for sitting thank you very much! ;)

We have a Splendide combo vented. We are full timers. It works fine for us. Our first one lasted 10 years and started to get finicky so we replaced it. The new model is better but the first one worked fine as well.

If I were buying new, than yes I would go for the stacked for all the reasons stated unless the coach was less than 40'. However, if I were buying used and the coach came with the combo I would not consider changing nor would I assign a negative point to the coach. A combo works just fine, a stacked unit just works better unless the storage space is important.

We have had both. The stacked works much better for us because the dryer actually works. Yes, the splendides were vented. If you install a stacked make sure you get a 220 dryer. It won't work on 30 amp service, but it makes a difference in the time to dry the clothes.

Combos wash and dry.

Stacked units only work one at a time, either wash or dry not both....UNLESS it is a full size home unit operating on 240 volts or gas.

We have the vented unit, which is better than the non vented.

If you don't want wrinkles....stop the machine after the wash load, FOLD the clothes, return them to the drum and start the drying cycle. Wrinkles disappear...Dennis

We also have a vented Splendide combo and it works well for us. And we do jeans, king sheets, bath towels, and whatever else needs washed and dried. No problem.

For what it's worth, we wash everything in the combo except the area rugs. Granted the loads are small and something is in it most every day. As for the wrinkles....not my area of expertise but something magic happens that seems to either prevent or minimize the issue but that seems to be a trade secret of DW so I don't pry. I do know that she is selective about the fabricss when we load for out 4+ month summer trip. The rest is magic....dirty in....clean out

The routine seem to be clothes in, play golf, cloths out. Seem simple to me.
