- lanerdExplorer IIYou misunderstood me. The modified 4 bag chassis is more than sufficient for the coaches it was designed for. Obviously, the 4-bag RR4R chassis is NOT good for the larger motor homes that are designed for the 8 and 10 bag chassis. Sorry, I didn't do a good job of explaining myself.

Sorry, have to disagree. While the Source Engineering Trailing Arms make the suspension safe, the Monaco/Roadmaster 4 bag suspension is NOT as good as their 8 outboard air bag suspension.
May be adequate, but not as good. - lanerdExplorer II

The Country Coach Allure would be similar to Monaco Camelot. The Country Coach was made literally down the street from the Monaco. Holiday Rambler and Beaver are both owned by Monaco and made models similar to the Camelot.
You forgot Safari...jimm68 wrote:
The rr4 chassis is another story, not recommended.
Also not an issue with a Camelot.

Ron - loydtExplorerThe Holiday Rambler Scepter and the Monaco Camelot are basically identical coaches. It's like comparing a Chevy S10 to a GMC S15. I belive that the year range you are looking at is key. Seems like 2005 thru early 2007 were good production years for Monaco. I've had no issues with mine other than general maintenance issues and I prefer this coach over the Winnebago we have.
- JimM68ExplorerOur 08 knight is a fabulous coach, and I would recommend any pre-bankruptcy Roadmaster RR8R chassis monaco, HR, or beaver to anyone.

Holiday Rambler and Beaver are both owned by Monaco and made models similar to the Camelot. I have close RV friends with a 2006 Monaco Knight and another with 2003 Holiday Rambler Scepter and both are very happy with their coaches. My point being that I would rate those two brands as very good. The Scepter owner had another HR before that.
Fleetwood, Newmar, Winnebago, and Tiffin all make coaches in approx the same price range as the Camelot. The RV Consumer Group publishes lists of nearly all motorhomes in all years back about 25 years. Their information makes it very easy to sort through things like chassis length, carry capacity, motor size and type, chassis type, and so on. They also rate handling and quality. I used their information when we looked for a coach 4 1/2 years ago. At that time they had the most complete information package available. You can get information from them on line. - 1SGExplorerDennis has the order correct except I would slide the Windsor above the Camelot then after the Camelot would be Diplomat, Knight and Cayman based on their engines and chassis. The LaPalma is a gas rig.
Holiday Rambler, Monaco Safari and Beaver all made similar coaches but not exact you can go to their websites and look for their archived brochures to see the differences
I agree comparisons to Newmar and Tiffin can be made. - lanerdExplorer II

In 2005, the Camelot was the #4 coach in the line from Monaco.
1. Signature
2. Executive
3. Dynasty
4. Camelot
The top three were considered "luxury" coaches and had a steel monocoque constructed framework. The rest of the line up had an aluminum alloy frame.
Because of the similarities in The Executive and the Dynasty, the Exec was dropped and the Camelot moved up the ladder.
Monaco was purchased out of bankruptcy by Navistar who recently sold the brand to Allied Specialty Vehicles, ASV, who also bought Fleetwood out of bankruptcy.
Monaco still offers service and parts at their facilities in Oregon and Decatur....IMHO, the Camelot is an excellent coach...Dennis
What about the Windsor, Monarch, La Palma, Knight, Diplomat and Cayman? - rvis2005ExplorerIn my opinion, The Camelot is an outstanding coach. Good luck and all the best for good times in your new motorhome!!! I would second Executive's opinion. Tommy
- ArchHoaglandExplorerI have a 2004 Monaco La Palma which is at the bottom of their lineup.
We bought it new in 2004 and have put 65,000 miles on it. Everything that Monaco built on the chassis has held together very well, no squeaks nor rattles, etc.
If something happened to this one I'd look for another one just like it.
I suspect you'd be happy with the Camelot.
