"2oldman" and "holstein13"....here's just one article for you Tire care. Read down to just above the Good Sam ad in the center of the page. I would post some more, but I don't really care what you do with your tires and won't waste my time.
And for the common sense part, I'll help you out. Take a cinder block and set it in a puddle of water for a few days and see what happens. The leeching goes both ways.
Thanks Don, Oldman and I were talking about the tire manufacturers recommendations, not the accessories manufacturers.
I can't speak for Oldman, but I haven't seen any tire manufacturers who recommend keeping tires off of concrete. I have seen them say to keep the tires off of asphalt for extended periods of time, however, but not concrete.
The article your referred to is from a tire accessory supplier. I was really looking for advice from the tire manufacturers. I would imagine they would be the experts.
I am definitely NOT set in my ways and would welcome any evidence you can find. I really do want to protect my tires and if placing a vapor barrier under them will help, I'll do it every time.
