The responses to this topic make me smile. I spent a career in sales and sold a lot of high dollar metal fabricating equipment. Similar in price to motorhomes, thousands to a million plus.
I had customers whose DNA simply demanded that they haggle over the price quoted. Fortunately they were often customers I dealt with on a regular basis and knew their habits. Those were the customers that I went into with a price that was 10-15% above what I wanted, knowing that I would haggle that amount away before closing the deal. Other customers would compare my quotations with others and purchase what was in their best interest. Those people got my best price upfront.
Unfortunately we as buyers and sellers of RV's, rarely deal with the same people or people we know well enough to play the game required to complete each sale and come out with something good for both parties.
