Continental truck Tires

Thinking about installing low profile Continental truck tires on our 2004 Damon Daybreak.Good or Bad idea?

  • Our old F450 crew cab fifth wheel hauler came from Ford with Continentals on it - they lasted for 90K miles and got replaced with the same brand. We sold the truck at 135K miles so I don't know how long the second set lasted. Can't say how the ride was - the truck was well-sprung to handle its 15K GVWR and we didn't notice any unusual road noises.
  • Put them on the Front of Our DSDP 2 Years ago. They ride just as well and are no noisier than the Michelins that were on it before!

Have an even more obscure set of Drive Tires that are also great. Aggressive tread design ,but quiet running. Double Coin is the Brand!

Reason for replacing .. Much Lower Cost per tire ..Same Warranty as the Other Brands!
  • When we bought this rig it had Continentals all round. The ride was rougher than expected. We replaced the fronts with Michelin steer tires and the improvement was remarkable. Our tire guy calls the Continentals trailer tires. We are not replacing the rears as they have lots of life remaining.

We have Conti's on the 29.1. Awful tires. More road noise than I have ever had out of a tire. They ride rough too. The 29.2 has goodyears and man what a differnce. Same coach different tires, smooth as butter, no road noise or feedback. YMMV.
