Must be a bunch of boondockers on here worrying about gen noise. We boondocked 13 weeks in AK last summer and only have the gas cooktop and a convection/microwave. Made our Friday night pizza every week and ran the gens to do it.
I do believe boondockers are the minority of RVer's and new RV's are constructed and equipted to meet need and expectations of the majority of buyers. That majority will never boondock more than a night or two and for all pratical purposes will run on their batteries or supplement with gen use.
As far as cooking/baking with the convection side pizza, bread, pies, meatloaf, casseroles have all come out fine.
I do miss using the microwave while having a roast in the oven but even that can be overcome by planning.
