Converter

My converter is cycling about every minute. When the fan kicks on the lights get brighter and when it stops lights dim. Checked all connections all good. When converter kicks on I noticed that I am only getting 12.5v or so but nothing over 13v at any tiime charging at the the batters. Is this an indication the converter is going bad?
  • Converter should work whether you have batteries or not. It sounds like a problem with a regulator or other internal circuit in the converter. How does the system work with the MH unplugged and the motor running.

I had a similar situation. I had a tripped over-load on my circuit board. Once I re-set it, all was fine....

On my circuit board, there are two over-load breakers. They normally have green lights indicating all is good......one of them was red....very easy to find and fix....

I suspect you have a short somewhere, and a thermal self-resetting breaker is what is clicking on and off.

SUSPECT #1 is one of the cells in your battery.
