Looking to buy anew converter.i had an intell power 55 amp before wondering any one is better then the other or are they all about the same
  • Hi,

I'd look at powermax, Iota and PD. All three will meet your needs.

There is quite a range, However there are MANY at the top of the list.

The Intella Power 9200 series (or the 9100 with the optional charge wizard, or for that matter any of the intella-power wizard controlled models) are clearly among the very best. 8 years ago when I read the label on my Intella power 9180 with wizard I did some heavy duty research and found many that were as good, some for different reasons but none better, this is a top of the line 3-stage converter with at least one additional feature. (My standard for "The very best")

On the other hand.. They still make old single stage jobs like the Parralex 7300 which I would recommend against (A 7300T however is what I call "The minimum acceptable" converter, the "T" is important)

Thankfully,, They no longer make the Magnetek 6300. That was even worse than the 7300 (OH, Parallex bought out Magnetek .. and made a bit of improvement, hence the bigger number)
  • the Progressive Dynamics PD9260 with Charge Wizzard would be a good option and it can be had for a little over $200.00
  • If you name is what you have for a MH I doubt you have an inverter. A converter will provide 12V for lights & acc, and charge your 12V battery for the coach. An Inverter will convert the 12V to 120V for use of the normal appliances on the 110 outlets. If you want an inverter you will need more than 1 or 2 batteries for the supply and some rewiring of the coach.
  • Like most things, they very quite a bit in quality. I'm assuming you want a converter/inverter to both charge the battery(s) and provide 120 volt power when not connected to shore power. As a rule of thumb, you probably want something that will provide more amperage than what you think you'll need.
