Not sure what you refer to as cold mark. On my Freightliner water gauge normal is about 1/3, when climbing long grades it goes up to a little over half. As soon as it peaks and starts going down, it will go almost instantly back to about 1/3 on the gauge. The gauge on my coach all it says from 1/4 to 3/4 NORMAL. I wish it broke it down as to what degrees are normal on a Caterpillar engine, but I never worry as long as it is between 1/4 & 3/4. :B
