yep, gorilla glue sucks as a glue. works by reacting with moisture and expands to hold. works for situations where compression holds but if there is any chance of movement/wiggle the bubbles will burst and will not hold. I glued a cane handle on to the shaft and worked great at first. then continuous wiggling it kept expanding the hole and eventually would just pull off.
as far as thickness of corian goes, at one time Newmar used two different ones in their counter tops. a very thin veneer on the economy models and thick in the upscale models. I saw several new units at the dealer with the thin stuff that already had developed a crack at the sink corners, etc.
