Couch out the door

I know all motor homes are different, but in general have those of you that have replaced their couch been able to use the door and if so did you have to take it apart to get it out? What I am trying to accomplish is replace the couch with two recliners from the house while we are on the road 5-6 months. When we return put the original couch back in the motor home.
  • Many couches and recliners can have their backs slid up and off. I wold try giving the back a good firm upward jerk.
OTOH, if you replacing it and it wont come apart, I would (unless you want to keep it) simply cut the back off rather than remove a window.
  • If my residential fridge fit thru the side window, I'm sure the couch will also. It's bolted down, remove the bolts, strip the cushions off, open it bed style and slide it out. You'll need at least three people, preferably young and strong...about the only thing the door is good for is entering and exiting the coach...Dennis

I have a good feeling my couch would never go through my skinnie trailer access door...

Have not looked at removing the large window but I think that is the way I would have to go to get the couch out. This is the emergency exit window I am talking about and now that i just said this I now remember my emergency exit window may be in the bedroom area haha... I may have an emergency exit from both the living room and the bed room...

My front door has cabinets and other things on the inside close-by and I don't really think you would be able to rotate the couch around in such a way to come through the door. One end would have to be lifted up real high and then possibly you can walk it through the door on its end...

Same would go for the fridge as well...
