- C350amgExplorerWhat I did is to wait for specials either at camping world or banks direct.
There was a special at end of summer that made it a no brainer to go with the Banks system.
As for noise I posted a video of mine and you can't here them. Also note that my rv is isolated with tons of injected foam in the fenders and under the floors ( a Triple E is a 4 seasons rv). Pretty sure that this plays a huge role in the noise control. - Deano56Explorer IIBanks is pretty pricey IMO, Thorley must be one of few that is 14 gage.

Yes, but the tubes are only 16 gauge, compared to Thorley which is 14 gauge. This means they make more noise in the engine compartment.
Again I would go like I did with the Banks torque tube, for what it is worth I never saw header so nicely made (the flages are 5/8) and it's a strait bolt on to the cat.
They come also with head shields, extensions for o2 sensors (because they are move back. - C350amgExplorerAgain I would go like I did with the Banks torque tube, for what it is worth I never saw header so nicely made (the flages are 5/8) and it's a strait bolt on to the cat.

Also replaced the steering damper which was worn out. Found a Moog for $36.00 shipped from Amazon. Ready for a short 4 day trip starting tomorrow afternoon down at Illini State Park
- Deano56Explorer III took a closer look tonight at my exhaust manifolds, they are NOT cast, they are fabricated and no signs of leakage. Going to buy some donuts tomorrow

I started soaking them this morning, and tomorrow night I will heat them up real good before trying, heat can do wonders too. Were the cracks very visible like dark next to the cracks where exhaust was leaking through?Deano56 wrote:
well i cant seem to see a sign of leaking or cracks on the manifolds, however I did grab the exhaust pipes and they move around quite easily at the donuts, they seem loose.. I'm going to give that a shot today if the nuts will come off
Mine were cracked in numerous places. I soaked all the studs with PB Blaster for a week sometimes three or four times a day and everyone of them came right out. I went with Doug Thourly ceramic coated headers from Summit Racing. Good luck with yours keep us posted. - Deano56Explorer II

Not too worried about marketing hype, I don't think I can compare my old big block motor home to a nascar, but if you like them and they are doing the job then that's great. Many swear by Banks too. Any headers that I have put on my vehicles have been a improvement whether I bought them from JC Whitney or a local speed shop that sold Hooker, Headman or whatever brand they happened to sell.
Instead of worrying about marketing hype, search the internet for real dyno comparisons. Or you can search for a rolled Nascar car photo, where you can see the stepped exhaust. Understanding the whole concept of keeping the air moving, the concept makes sense.
BTW: When, not if :) the bolts break off that hold the donut, most auto parts stores carry the equivalent of a miniature C-clamps to bolt it back together, so you don't have to drill out the old bolt. - Deano56Explorer IIif I do go to headers it will be an inexpensive set uncoated, we have just ordered a Metco 16E thermal spray gun that we will be coating metals with for corrosion protection. I will use a 85/15 zinc and aluminum mixture
