Thanks but these headers do not use gaskets. In fact, Banks will void their warranty if gaskets are used. I've never heard of a single Banks header warping or leaking.:B That's why I am using them.

We are taking a trip to Alaska next summer and the last thing that I need is to be sitting on the side of the road, working on my engine.:S

If you have the D shaped port you need a Remflex 3013. This gasket fits 93-98 Ford 460s. I am not affiliated with Remflex but I worked part time in a speed shop waiting for my wife to retire and none of them ever came back for a warranty replacement. Some came back because the individual did not know which head or header he had but never for burn out when installed in the correct application.

Thanks....... that is impressive. It must be due to the fact that they use 14G S/S pipe and 5/8" thick flanges. Most good headers are 16G and the cheap ones are 18G.

I'm assuming that you did not coat or wrap your headers..... Are you having any heat issues inside the coach? How about plug wires?

No I didn't have a need to coat or wrap the headers. The headers made my floor and dog box cooler. WOW...don't know about that one....the tiles....could cause a flat..LOL just went and looked..I only have a mud flap on the pass side...weird ....its coming off.....on my new dual system I have no shields on muffs...don't see I need them... the factory knew this heat was trapped ,that's why they put useless shields on everything..including installing that 10' sheet steel panel welded to the frame ...that's to contain the airflow around the exhaust....Ill bet you that stock system has so much blockage the eng can hardly breathe and creates unbelievable heat.

I just had a thought.... what about gluing ceramic tiles on the under side of the coach, above the exhaust pipes and muffler? ......... sorta like the Space Shuttle...... only different.... :-)

I plan to use Heat Shield Barrier Cloth in lieu of the expensive heat shields from Banks (they are about $200 each from them). I'll use that for the starter, wires, cables and left frame rail. I may even use it on the under side of the floor all along the exhaust.

Did you install your own? Any tips that you care to share?

I'm a pretty savvy gear-head myself and have a complete set of Snap-On air tools etc.. I designed and built a number of race cars back in the day (oval track stock cars). I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty but I sure respect the advise of people that have gone there before me :B.

That is the only way I would do it. They have did all the testing and fit testing for you so it is quick and easy.
