- DavyddExplorerChipped windows can be repaired somewhat successfully with a filler but if it is cracked as in a line crack or even a chipped star crack it would have to be replaced. The crack will always grow. Fortunately in Minnesota the law requires insurance to cover windshield repair 100% so our deductible doesn't kick in. So, getting it done is no question for us. I've had full replacement windshields and I have had chips repaired with our B Sprinters.
- naturistNomadInsurance in Virginia covers cracked/broken windshields, too. You may find this pretty universal, as insurance companies WANT you to be able to SEE where you are going, and anything that interferes with that is counterproductive as far as they are concerned. So I'd call my insurance company as see what they have to say about it.
- FastpaddlerExplorerA stone chip which hasnt spread can be fixed probably for no charge to you as insurance would pay glass shop. If the chip has spread then a new windshield is likely necessary. I would check with your insurance company BEFORE getting it replaced. Make sure you get the proper windshield replacement which has any wires etc imbedded. Your insurance deductible, if any, should apply.
