Cruise Control kicks out on bumps

Hi all,
The cruise control on my '03 HR Admiral with Workhorse has starting kicking out when going over road bumps or seams. In the past this might happen a couple of times a season, but this past season it happened several times a trip. Is there like a sensitivity setting or are we looking at something that's more intense. Thanks for the help.

  • Also search out how the cruise control is controlled. I have seen some with a target attached to the drive shaft and a speed sensor is mounted to a solid spot. If the drive shaft is moving away from the switch too far it looses contact and kicks out.
  • I had a similar problem after replacing a power brake booster. Check for a switch activated by the brake pedal arm, it may be need to be moved closer.
Edit: FuelFunnel beat me to it.:B
