- the_bear_IIExplorerThe brake light switch is either defective or not adjusted properly. I've had brake light switches on two different vehicles vibrate loose and weren't making the proper contact with the brake pedal. I've also had a switch go bad.
- tmmarExplorerI had the same problem and it turned out to be a short. Don't know where it was because it was fixed by Freightliner while under warranty.
- BB_TXNomadWhatever it is, don't use the cruise. And get it fixed as soon as possible.

Do your brake lights work? If not, then the problem is probably in the brake light circuit, not the cruise control.
x2 - powderman426ExplorerI can't imagine how that could happen. Sounds like a computer problem. I remember years ago I was going down the road with cruise on and the speedometer cable broke which because it thought it was slowing down, it accelerated full tilt until i hit the brake. I would get it to a dealer.
