Leafs hitting hangers

As you can see in the pic below my leafs/bushings are hitting against the metal hangers in the back. I was planning on going from the solid equalizers to the Dexter EZ Flex but believe it will make the situation even worse due to the added movement. Do I have to get these hangers notched/cut out to be able to safely run them?

2nd question my current solid equalizers look to be ~6" long (eye-to-eye) and Dexter makes two sizes (5 5/8 and 7 3/4). Is the smaller 5 5/8 the one I want to be using. My axles are 6Klb Lippert and 33" spacing.

    I don't know the length you would want. However It looks to me like the shackle on the left in the picture is longer than the one on the right. That might be a problem. Also I think if you're toeing way out of level it might create a problem.

    It does appear that the one shackle is longer, but most likely just the picture angle. If this pic was taken while hooked up, I agree with Milt, you need to get your rig level, and the problem may go away.

    I would think you would want the shorter Dexters, but I'd call and talk with them before purchasing.

    Shackles are the same length. Its just the way I was laying on my back when taking the pic. The trailer is parked at a slight incline and I do currently tow nose high (~4-5"). And its a toyhauler so does get loaded with some weight at times.

    There are some REALLY bad sections right now on I-5 going north from SoCal to NorCal that I hit over the holidays and am sure where it left its mark

    IMO, that is too much nose high, and is likely the cause of problem. If you could cut that in half, without a major sub frame etc, I'm sure it would make a difference.

    Looks like you have adjustable shackles (different mounting holes).

    Do you have holes in leaf spring eye shackles for adjustment?

    Are the leaf spring eyes in the very bottom hole (maximum height)?
    If not...relocate to bottom hole and readjust hitch height to get TH towing level.

    The 5 5/8" EZ Flex S/B the correct ones

    Yeah thats kind of what I figured. It has been my plan to raise the trailer but I really like the height it is now for entry and loading purposes. I can still do an axle flip but I didn't really want it up another 6" from where it is now. Just have to bite the bullet I guess

    Looks like I will definitely have to raise the trailer before doing equalizers though.

    Yes all mounts are in the bottom most holes (max trailer height). I can't even see what the upper mounting hole in the pic could be used for. It would always hit if in the upper mount.

    If yours can be flipped, probably the easiest fix. If the flip seems too high, you could change to the upper hole when changing equalizer, and hopefully the spring ends. That would bring it back down a little.
