we just took a 7 day cruise on the Norwegian Pearl. It was our first cruise and it was totally terrific. The free style dining offers a great variety and lets you eat when you want and where you want. We liked eating outside on the back deck, from the buffet, but the two dressier style restaurants were very nice, too. We're not much for stage shows, but did enjoy a variety show a couple times.
We went the third week of May, and the weather couldn't have been nicer...not warm enough for swimming, but some hardy souls enjoyed the hot tub pool.
We took the one that went up into Glacier Bay National Park and that was really neat..got very close to a big glacier.
The port stops in Ketchikan and Juneau were long enough to get off and see a bit of each place. At Skagway, we had a very long day and there's a lot to see or do in Skagway.
I highly recommend Norwegian, but admit I've not been on any other cruise ship.
