I have a 99 Monaco Dynasty with Cummins ISC-330.The serpentine belt is FINE, but the second belt that goes up to a pump just flew apart.I'm stuck along the freeway and am waiting for Good Sam Roadside assistance to figure out a solution. However, the mobile mechanic they were going to dispatch says the belt is not available within a couple hundred miles.So, if I need to camp out for a bit, I'm wondering if it's driveable for short distances without the second belt.What does that pump do?Picture at Dropboxhttps://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/93858280/rvbelt.JPG

What does the second belt drive?????If just A/C compressor, go for it!

Looks like the dash A/c compressor to meIf so it is driveable. Start engine see if A/C gets cold if it does not I am right and you can drive

The second belt is likely for the air conditioning compressor. The serpentine belt drives the alternator and waterpump. Make certain the damaged belt will not interfere with any other components. Watch your gauges, you should be ok.

A/c......start it up and verify you have no a/c

You also need to check the A/C compressor before you put a new belt on to make sure it has not locked up which may have caused the belt to come apart. More than likely the belt was just slightly loose and worn but there is always the possibility the compressor froze with the a/c clutch engaged. Did you have the dash A/C running when the belt came apart?

U Need to take a flash lite and eyeball the path of the broken belt, to see if it's out of the way of the good one, so as to not through it off. Now it's all happy-camping

FWIW I keep a spare AC belt and a spare serpentine belt. When I had a new Serpentine put on I kept the old one as a spare.

That sounds like an EXCELLENT bit of advice.

We made it to our destination safely and was spared the hassle of towing, etc.

I'm thankful that GoodSam Roadside Assistance was willing to get me, but I'm MUCH more thankful for this community and rvforum.net who came to our aid with actual knowledge and experience.

Once You get the correct belt ,buy a spare and keep the Number for the Belt in a safe location.

Good Sam Roadside was going to tow me to a KOA for the night to get me off the freeway. After more than an hour on the phone I sent them a picture and they finally confirmed what you told me within 10 minutes of my post.

If the belt only drives one thing and it has two lines going to it and one small electric wire, it IS the dash A/C compressor. Drive forever without it. Just do not turn on the dash A/C.

If you need air conditioning, use the generator and roof A/C.

Its ac and a belt shouldn't be that hard to find. There is a certain width and a certain length. Its an automotive belt and doesn't have to come from Cummins.
