Cummins 5 year old synthetic oil with 1000 miles - change ?

Oil That sits, especially in a diesel, gets acidic even with the low miles. I say change it. But seeing as how he really has no choice I say run it. I’m sure it’s done all the time. When he gets the chance and money have it changed.
