Dash Cam Mounting on Vertical Windshield?

All,

I have been looking at dash cams for my Journey. Can most of these be mounted vertical windshield? I am looking at the VIOFO A-119A, but it is designed for a slanted windshield.

I would love to see pictures of peoples dash cam mountings if you have them, and any advice on what seems to be a good option for a Class A!

thanks,

jeff
  • Our Blackvue has a bracket with double stick tape that will mount on any surface. The camera slides into it and can be rotated 360 degrees to accomodate any window slant.
  • do you have a rear view mirror? I got at amazon a nifty mount that clamps onto the mirror bracket.

Our KDLink mounts on a flat windshield just fine.
    We use the KDLink also.
  • I use one of these on the dash.
The camera mounts to the center like it would to glass and the whole pad is weighted so it stays in place--mostly. My truck has a cloth dash mat so this thing really stays in place on it. The one on the SUV tends to ride up to the window if the road gets bumpy since the dash slopes toward the front. I should say my camera automatically changes the camera screen to make the up at the top which ever way the camera is mounted. Not all cameras have this feature from what I have read.

  • I run a Falcon One dash cam in my MH. The mount has a swivel so it will work on a slanted or vertical window.
  • My Hero 3 works great at any windshield angle, so I’d be looking at GoPro if I was looking.
