Your dash HVAC system is very very similar to that on a PU truck or car.
So, anyone who can work on a "regular" vehicle A/C can work on yours.
Yes, the compressor will likely be a little more difficult to access, but will mount the same as in other vehicles.
When you say "shorted out", I am not sure what you mean???
