DC not working

Hello. I have a 1996 Monaco Dynasty. We are out at a camp site with the grandchildren and are on day three going home tomorrow. We are plugged into 30 amp shore power. All was going well and wife had just had a shower using vanity light. Wife turned off vanity light and turned on living room area light and it would not turn on. All interior DC lights are not working. The interface monitor is not registering on grey water level or battery level. The refrigerator.. TV...and appliance are working so the A.C. is just fine. The switch at the front door has been checked and has not been turned off. Can you please direct us as to what we can do to fix the DC? Thank you in advance.

    Find anything?????
  • "ricelake922"....I see you understand the 12volt "salesman switch" at the door can shut you down, but are you aware it's connected to a solenoid in your run bay (the bay under the driver's window). If that solenoid fails, you'll lose your 12 volt power to the items you described. The solenoid is has two large battery cables connected to it. When you turn on the switch at the door, it causes the solenoid to internally connect those two large cables together.

You can test the solenoid by jumping those two cables together. If it is the solenoid, simply disconnect the two cables, bolt them together and wrap them in black electrical tape.
  • Since he is plugged in, the converter should be providing 12 volt even if the batteries are weak so I thing it is something else. Since it is multiple things, my bet is on a fuse or 12v circuit breaker or bad connection. If you have your manual along, check to see if a wiring diagram is included and see if there is a common source for the 12v systems that are not working.

By the way, everyone should always carry the appropriate manuals in the coach as they don't do any good while traveling when the manuals are at home. If the manual doesn't include a wiring diagram, get one and put it with the manual. I recently had a question while in Canada, checked the manual on procedure, easily resolved the issue and continued on.

"Fridge working .....then DC is working" ASSUMES he still has a NoCold, not a residential. I could not find in his previous posts what refer he has. He learned about the DC disconnect switch when a kid played with the switches by the passenger seat.
OP, we need more info on your refer as like Old B, it takes 11 V to run the control board. I would start the engine and see if things start to work again.
  • Fridge working .....then DC is working (fridge needs DC for panel lights and circuit board functions)

Need to check DC Fuses for lighting circuits.

    Does water pump work...DC
Does water heater propane fire....DC needed
Does furnace work......DC needed for fan/controls and t-stat
    Does A/C work..........DC needed for t-stat
  • There is often a circuit breaker or fuse near or in the battery bank box. It may have failed.

Do you carry a volt meter?
  • Battery cables have a tendency to go bad. Like others have stated check the simple things first

    simple things first...

    - check your battry condition using a volt meter or hydrometer
    - check the battery cable connections (clean and tight
    - check the converter to make sure battery connections are tight and no on-board fuses have popped

    my money's on the battery.
