Decals fraying or chipping at edges

I like the looks of decals on the sides as they add some color.

Will check out the 303.

I have seen 5th wheels with no decals. It gets your attention because it is different. The only reason they exist is for company advertisement. I always thought they should not even be there. If they were not, then it would look normal and easier to keep looking good.

My old 1990 Winnebago has crazed and cracked decals. I suppose I could go to the trouble of trying to polish them off but I'm sure the sun will have caused fading where the decals aren't.

I'm just happy when everything is working.

My 04 B+ Trail Lite has the multiple little graphic bits starting to look a bit ratty.

I'm undecided between letting them go a while longer, or come spring, just removing them completely. The swoopy lines are holding up pretty good, but the little text letters are starting to get loose around some edges.

Not really concerned about 'bread truck' look as this 217 shape doesn't resemble any bread trucks I've ever seen.

As the first winter we've had this rig, I'm unsure beyond waxing what I want to do. There is inside storage for $65/month, and there is a Tyvex-style cover for a couple $hundred.

Already have winterized the plumbing.

Apply 303 over them about once a month if stored outside uncovered. It will slow down the process.

I'll just add don't sweep the snow off in winter time. I was soooo diligent to keep the snow off that one bad winter. I used the RV extended soft bristled broom to sweep the snow off the cab over, sides where the storm slammed snow drifts against it, etc.........

Come spring I realized what "I" did to my decals.:(

The decals are cold and brittle in cold weather, me sweeping that broom (albeit it was a very soft broom meant not to hurt an RV finish) over them snow storm after snow storm in freezing temps actually frayed the edges of the decals. Just saying a little tip to help you avoid my oops! :B

The decals on my 97 Coachmen weren't peeling that badly, other than some of the Coachmen name decals, but they were terribly faded. I pulled all the decals off with a sanding wheel. It had those horizontal stripes like waist high and up near the roof - quite dated looking.
My son is going to paint the whole MH and we will either buy some swirly type decals or paint something on the sides. I have already bought new Coachmen name decals.
It will be able to pass for a 2007 or 2008 when done. The outside never really changed, other than graphics, for a whole bunch of years.

We have a 2011 colbalt trail TT ( built by monaco). We bought it new in june 2012. The decals started coming off 6 months after we bought it. They are chipping almost fraying from the top.

This was a warranty issue. The dealer called Monaco and we sent pics. Monaco approved the work to be done. We are now "still" waiting for the dealer to get arrangements made for them all replaced. I talked to Monaco a month ago and they said all approval had been authorized, we need to get on the dealers back.

We are almost thinking now that they should be put on next spring. We are still waiting to hear from the dealer.

Afraid I would look like a big bread delivery truck with no decals!!! :0

What about stripping them off and replacing them with nothing?
