Deep Cycle Battery Question

We've had good luck with Interstate wet cell batteries. I wasn't a maintenance hound but we still got 9 years out of them. Although ours were 6 volts the brand worked well for us.

When I replaced them last year I went with the cheap Duracells from Sams. I read mostly decent reports and figured we'd try them. I did use the mineral oil trick and so far have ZERO corrosion. Give it a few years and I'll tell you if we made the right choice. :B

If it fits your budget it's tough to be an AGM battery.

It is very important that your charger match your batteries. If your charger is set for or only for Wet Cells, you will not be happy when you ruin your AGMs

I've had a single Auto Zone 12VDC Marine/RV battery as my house battery for 3 years now and it's working just fine. Of course, I don't boondock camp, so I couldn't really give a comparison as to how well it will last on its own.

Happy with my Deka AGM 8D. Had it for 5 years now and still going strong.

I just purchased this battery. I have always used flooded lead batteries for the past 20 years. I have had reasonable luck with interstate deep cycle batteries. I have had poor luck with walmart deep cycle batteries. Now I am going to try this.

Well tried to put a link there but it wouldn't work. Anyway its a duracell group 31 105 amp hour rv marine battery. 18 month free replacement. All though I am hoping it lasts a lot longer than that with proper care. But we will see. Cost like 179.00. If it ***** out i am going to spend the big bucks on a Lifeline battery.

There are a lot of advantages to AGMS just goggle AGM advantage its pretty impressive.

150 minutes at 25 amps until dead

That's 62 amp hrs, kinda on the small side for RV use, but if it serves you well, then maybe that is all you need
50 percent use then recharge is 31 amp hrs

Granted I'm basing this on the number you supplied, a different number will give different results

We had 8 wet cell batteries in our 2008 Monaco Dynasty. In 2013, I decided to switch to AGM's and wished I had done it from day one. I checked the batteries religiously and filled with distilled water as needed. What a ******* headache!

The wet cell batteries sulfated and caused corrosion on the battery trays which had to be repainted.

If you can swing it, go with AGM's.

I just bought an AGM Deep Cycle from Sam's Club and so far it has done a pretty good job. It says it is rated for a little over 2 hours (150 minutes) of continual use. I think I gave just under $100 for it and if anything goes wrongs with it, I can warranty the battery at any Sam's Club or Wal Mart. I figure those things are everywhere, so I am pretty well covered.

Bill, I didn't know your coach was 18 years old! It looks great! However, you can't stay in my RV park any more. Sorry...ten year rule.
