Delivery Service Referrals

Well, the purchase is in progress. Deposit paid, insurance pending and financing will be known tomorrow.

Due to pending and critical business processes, time away from work may not be possible. At best, I will fly down to spend a day on the User Acceptance Inspection.

Then fly back and contract out to an RV delivery service.

So, who have you used and why? The route is about 1500 miles, should take three full days. What kind of cost am I looking at?

Once the process is complete, I'll announce what was purchased and why. Lets just say I found a deal to sweet to pass up.
  • Depends on the model and size of the coach. Also depends if you are willing to let the transporter "use" the coach while traveling. Time of year and weather related delays add to the cost. Will you pay for fuel, lodging, meals etc? Too many variables without more information...

A reasonable guess though, would be $2500-$6000......Dennis
  • I would ask the seller if they could store it for you until you can get either a Friday or Monday off, then fly in the night before and pick it up.
  • I have delivered a few but I am not in that business......expenses + $100 a day 5 day min....brought one from Bangor, Maine down here once didn't like that propeller plane from NY-------
  • Ask the manufacturer who they use and pay them to move it for you.

If you allow the driver to camp in your coach, and it's already plated, insured and set to roll, around $750-$900 plus expenses. If not, $2,500 will be on the light side.

Way on the light side. Been there done that. The T-shirt didn't fit very well. ;-)
  • No matter what service you inquire about online, you will be flooded with offers for the next 6 months.

If it's anything like the delivery of my F450 from WA to CO, it will be in the vicinity of $2500.
  • Usually the dealers have a group of drivers they use and are bonded. I would go that route before I took on some unknown. Second would be the various delivery companies in the Elkhart area, again knowledgeable and correctly insured for a commercial RV delivery. Other than that, I would some how make time or ask the dealer to store it until I could go get it.

If it wasn't elvers season there in Maine, I would give you my SIL's info and he would probably go get it for you, but this time of year, you can't afford him.....LOL
