DeMartini Sales-Service-Grass Valley, CA

Some of you may have had a pleasant experience with the sales department, but you will find far less in service. We have been going to the service department for close to 10 years. The past two visits were far less than satisfactory. There is a new service manager, less than satisfactory style. Add to that... Service techs leave foot prints, grease finger prints inside our coach. The techs do the assigned job but don't put all the nuts and bolts back in or in tightly. I have to check everything.

This time they told me they had done certain work, I checked, it had not been done but I was charged for it. No offer to do anything other than offer excuses why. Picked up the coach a couple days ago, and this morning oil leaking from the generator!! We are at Sacramento Truck having engine check light looked at, and now I will have to pay them to fix whatever DeMartini service did or did not do to the gen. Fortunately I have not run the gen so no damage. I will not go back to DeMartini and am going to ask for the credit for servicing the gen ($149).
  • Good news. No hassle. I provided the service manager at DeMartini with the invoice ($175.) from Sacramento Truck. He called Sac Truck, for what reason I don't know but at the end, DeMartini is going to refund me the full amount.

His only comment was, over sight on the part of the tech and no big deal. The mistake was a failure to tighten the fuel line causing it to leak under pressure. I see it as more than no big deal. Had we ran the gens et for some longer period, it could have resulted in a fire by dripping on the exhaust pipe running directly under the unit. To me, that's serious!

I will post all this on RV service reviews.
  • Document everything that you can and take it to Tim he needs to know what's going out in his shop on put a stop to it.
  • Any more I stay away from Dealerships,I have Used B&B RV Service in Auburn for coach repairs,AND I take My SouthWind to SUPERIOR EQUIPMENT REPAIR for ALL service work and Generator service, and anything mechanical,ED has always saved me money. Now I have 3 Neighbors that also take there RIGS to ED, 530 -888-0795
  • Yeah! They wanted to sell me a newer coach. Said they'd take my old one on trade. Talking about a price, they said they'd wholesale it and offer me whatever they got. Sort of like a blank check. Most likely he could have heard me laughing several blocks away....doofus....Dennis
  • demartini used to be a great place to buy a MH. Service was never their forte. Now even the sales dept. has a bad reputation. Most of the units are just auction vehicles.

  • Make SURE you go into the office and talk to Tim DeMartini, the owner. I have had real good luck with them and the one time I was not satisfied, he made it right, after I brought it to his attention.
  • I've bought two DPs there over the last ten years. They have good prices and an interesting sales staff, but I would never take a coach there for any sort of service again. It's like once you are out the door, you are on your own. It seems as if it got worse when they moved into that large new facility, but it never was great.
  • Sorry to hear of your problems. I would have pictures and a statement from Sacramento Truck as to what they find wrong with your generator. This will back up your claim for reimbursement. Hopefully it is a loose drain plug or filter. Good luck

  • Sorry to hear that. They have always had one of the best reputations in the industry.
