Like I mentioned, read your inverter manual for guidance, My ProSine recommends 4 to 8 hours to equalize and also give a list by battery manufacturer. Some take less, some more so checking with your battery manufacturer might be prudent.
Personally, I turn off the salesman switch before equalizing and watch the battery temp. Make sure you're batteries are full of water before starting as there is a LOT of out-gassing and make sure your well ventilated as H gas is released.
