Hello,
The 2005 Diplomat had the upgrade to the 400 HP ISL. It is a fine engine/transmission combo for the typical 31,000# traveling weight.
The 2006 has four more inches of interior ceiling height.
Both are good coaches. Our 2005 has 42,000 miles with few problems. We lost the inverter at 2,000 miles, but Monaco replaced it. The turbo seals failed at four years, but Cummins fixed that under warranty. Otherwise it has been very good. I like the stability of eight outboard air bags.

P.S. We used the FMCA program to buy Michelin radials (seven years on the OEM Goodyear tires). A 2005 or 2006 should have new tires by now.
