do all MH's have rattles when driving

We find a lot depends on the road surface. Smooth road, it's pretty quiet. Rough road, a few squeaks and rattles.

Our entry-level 2004 Class C was pretty quiet, after we chased down the rattles and neutralized them. I put felt pads on the lower shade bars where they clicked on the window frames. The windows DID rattle within the frame on occasion - a well-place plastic butter knife stopped that....LOL! Storing "stuff" in cut-down cardboard boxes stopped rattles from within the cabinets. The one sound I could never quiet, was the little squeaks where the van chassis met the "house". Those were just the "sound of travel"

We have had rattles but after several years of working on them the only thing we hear is the awning and engine. Two rubber blocks that came with awnings disappeared when Dealer worked on and can't find any more. They fit between arms and and pistons? when stowed.

I'm lucky and get to drive a variety of Class A gassers on a variety of roads. I have found that the cheaper built RVs tend to have more rattle and wind noises. With some MH it might be a matter of taking the plate and rack out of the microwave.

BTW, from my own driving experiences Thor Challengers are the loudest and Tiffin Allegro Open Roads are the most quiet. Fleetwoods, Entegras, and Winnebagos are in the middle. Basically you get what you pay for.

I don't know about NY but in most of the country, dring down a highway in a motor home is like your house being in a 6 to 8 grade earthquake.

There are ways to minimise rattles but I've only hear of one that didn't have any at all.

I see that you are a Senior Member with a couple hundred posts and yet you seem to lack any knowledge of motorized rvs. I'd go rent one and take a week long trip before you buy one. These things are different than any other form of camping. I can understand wanting to know what you're getting into but one week in a rv and reading some of the basic books on systems will answer most of the quesstions you have asked and you'll learn a lot more than this way.

We'll still be here and we'll still answer your questions but download some basic books on RVs and their systems, read a lot and then ask about what the books don't cover.

As to the answer, ours does not rattle. I hate squeals and rattles, fortunately ours is good. We also pack smartly, using towels between metal pans, etc.

I've never driven a motorhome of any size or price that didn't have some rattles. Comes with the territory...

Itasca rattles are are built in as part of the ambiance of travel :)

There are motor homes with price tags in the 2-or more million range. I SUSPECT they are more or less rattle free.. Mine rattles. Some of those rattles I installed.
