Getting ready for a long trip, 1500 miles up to N. Oregon, Denver, New Mexico, and back to So. Cal. I replace my tires in 8/11 with Michelins. One back tire is badly cracked all are showing some cracks. BTW, most of the time, the tires have been covered, or in shade.
Any thought about brands other than Michelin and Goodyear would be appreciated. Sumitomo, Kelly?
So, what do you think, sage group, do I bite the bullet or not.
Since 6yrs is old enough and with the Michelins hot holding up, I'd change them out without a doubt or hesitation.
My vote is for Hercules and what I'm running now at a big savings. I've had them on another coach as well and have quit paying for a big name, long ago. They're made by Cooper and one of the largest makers in the world, anyway. Also would rather have truck tires than the so called RV tires, that Michelin and GY make.
I really don't think there's such a thing as a real difference in engineering or manufacturing with any tire brands.
They put a magic uv protection in the mix.
The magic doesn't seem to be working well, with a lot of Michelins and with the rivering reputation of the GY 670's, so why pay more?
Yes that is the down side of the magic sauce. It causes sidewall cracks, zipper blow outs and rivering.
I will stick with what has worked for me Hankooks and Samson's
