- paddykernahanExplorerJust got our class C less than a year ago so we driveway camp often.
Practice to see what we need.
Check out systems before long distance from home.
Just to have fun.
Driveway camped new years eve to see how cold weather camping worked out.
Used to do this with the pop-up also. - dieseltruckdrivExplorer IIYou aren't the only one. I sleep much better in the 5er than the house. The DW says she sleeps the same in either. We have nearly 50 nights in the 5er already this year, and we work full time. The 5er has AC, the house doesn't, and we haven't needed it yet, but we might.
- ORbikerExplorerWe will be spending the night in the 5'er in the driveway. The grand kids are visiting and all the house beds are full.
- AJBertExplorerAlthough it hasn't happened yet, the only time I plan on spending the night in our TT is when I'm in the dog house with the wife. Our bed is much more comfortable than the one in the camper. Though, a couple of years ago when we had the grandbabies with us for a month I'd sneak off to the camper when they got to be a little to loud for me to take a nap now and then.
- jackquonteeExplorerI bought my recent popup last year and spent one night in it at home. This year it looks like I'm going to make only two real camping trips so I WILL be spending more nights in it at the house. One way or another I'm going to get my money's worth!
- Jayco-noslideExplorerThe short queen bed is fine but the circuit I plug into won't support the AC. Also, have to worry about dumping the waste tanks.
- ppineExplorer III take naps in the trailer. I like to sleep in it when the weather is right. We have a million acre backyard of BLM land. The hybrid has canvas side so I hear the coyotes, owls, and neighborhood donkeys.
- NMDriverExplorerMight be time to spring for a new house bed. I like my RV bed but would only sleep there at home if there were, as mentioned above, home repairs in progress or more house guests than house beds. You are not alone but maybe a rarity :)
- 2112Explorer III just woke up in ours. We are painting the S&B interior so we have been driveway camping the last few nights and will for about three more.
- w4phjExplorerYes, The RV is a fantastic hurricane shelter. My MH is stored in a extremely well built garage and is plugged into 50A. The short time spent in the RV during the last hurricane was fun. Had A/C, TV, lights, refer, and etc. plus I back fed the garage for inside and outside lighting. Had no commercial power at my regular residence for 4 days. Having a separate generator exhaust system which discharges outside the garage is an absolute must.
