Do you use a fuel additive, which one?

I just replaced both fuel filters and about 7' of fuel line to my Onan generator. Ethanol gas was eating it to bits and plugging the fuel filters. Have you had this problem? I installed a better fuel line but still think I need to add Sea Foam or some other type of additive. Any thoughts?

  • SeaFormor or Stabil are good additives to extend the shelf life of gasoline.

Ethanol gas is the problem......don't know of an additive that will 'change' ethanol gas.
That junk should be removed from the market.
Eats up fuel lines, destroys fuel pumps, results in lower mpg....costs more, and impacts food pricing.
  • get non ethanol containing gasoline. it does cost more and there are sources for it. also a problem with outboard motors, lawn mowers, jet skis etc.

  • My diesel mechanic suggested the Stanadyne line of products.

There are many products out there and some labs have done side by side comparisons that you can find the results on-line.
