does net & cell work if driving in the middle of nowhere?

you know like if the passenger is on the laptop searching the net, or talking to people on the cell phone, or texting. while you are driving.

are there any set backs with your services for these two? do you need a special kind of service? especially when on the move.

not just while driving in the middle of nowhere, but even while passing through different cities, if that makes a difference.

can you recommend a good service for these things?

  • I just had to call Verizon and have some roaming minutes removed from Canada. We were parked in Algonac State Park in Michigan and it is on the river with Ontario across theriver. Since we have a couple of Granddaughters and a Great Grandson living there we get there often. (next week again) When we really get to Canada we turn off the cell and just use the Onstar in the car. That uses the Verizon network also but has no roaming charges, just exorbitant for everything.

We use VERIZON and find it to be the best coverage provider for all those way back places.

In my working years we had to go to all kinds of way back place all over the country. The CELL PROVIDER of choice was always VERIZON...

If you get cell phone service have at it... I would caution however using the cell phones close to the SOUTHWEST borders... If your cell phones trips up cell tower across the border you may get zinged big time with roaming fees... We turn our cell phones OFF when close to the US SOUTHWEST borders... Never been to the North borders so don't have first hand info on those...

  • Verizon has the best coverage overall. Yes there can be dead spots. But from my experiences they are few and far between. Unless your in the desert with no towers within 30 miles.
