Domestic fridge

Ok, so I sold the 35ft gasser and purchased a new diesel with a domestic fridge. Now wife is worried that we only have one source of power. 110V shore power. I know the generator will product the need power but do I need to run it constantly between campsites?

Doesn't the inverter convert to 110v for the fridge while on the move.

Troubling issues but I know its just a simple lack of understanding. Please offer your insight to help us understand..

Signed, Still learning!!

  • By domestic do you mean the kind that are in a house? They run on 120vac only.

Many newer RVs with 'domestic' refers come with a dedicated inverter. Perhaps a manual will tell you. Your dealer should have mentioned that.
  • Domestic as far as I can determine. No visible indicator on the unit to indicate which energy source is being used. This is a Whirlpool Brand.
  • When you say Domestic, do you mean a Dometic RV fridge? That should run on propane going down the road, and 110V when you are connected to it.

Unless Dometic started brand hopping residential style fridges - which is possible.

What model/make/year is your new diesel?
