Dometic AC Return.. how to install divider plate properly?

I have a Dometic / Duo Therm AC unit, model 630516.321. It is a heat pump model. I don't know my return model number, but I have include pics.

The AC return cover and foam filter were removed to be cleaned and not re-installed. I was going to clean or replace foam filter when I returned home (after I purchased RV from private party).

During traveling down the road, a few parts fell out of AC return box, the metal divider, white foam gasket 1/8" thick X 7" X 18". The other gasket is 1/2" X 1/2" X 15" long.

Now I do not know how they go back together! I have found some instructions on internet for similar models, but still not sure.

Anyone know how the divider plate and foam gaskets go in place?

Do I completely seal off fan box area from coil? How can it be completely sealed with just a foam gasket?

Instructions I found...Here

  • FIXED......I think!

I figured out how the pieces went back together after doing some reading/research. The intake air has to be separated from the quick cool air that is sent down into RV when the quick cool door is opened. If air were to bypass and get past divider into intake, this already cooled air would freeze the condenser and AC unit. At least that is how I understand the AC system works.

So, with that logic in mind, I sent out to insure that the divder plate blocked air between th eintake going uo into AC unit and the cooled air that is eiether sent down into RV when quick col door is opened or through ducting when closed.

    See pics of my assembly....

I used extra duty 3M mounting tape to hold bottom in place and then used extra strong glue spray to hold down the white insulation along around edges and front of divider.

Foam between divider plate and AC pan....to seal ou any air

Mounting tape to hold divider plate onto lower plate

Insulation glued down all across the divider plate and onto sides...also assist in preventing air from getting into intake area

"Quick Cool" door on AC grill cover

  • perhaps someone will remove their filter grille and take a few pics and post it here.....Now that would help me a TON!!

    THANKS!!!!
