Door key fob

I have a 2006 fleetwood excursion the battery went dead on the key fob. I replaced the battery and now it doesn't work. Does it need to be reset? if so, how.

Thanks
Ron

  • On my Fleetwood, you open the door to the dash, fuses and its on the floor in plain sight.
  • Well, I tried all of the suggestion which I appreciate very much but had no success. I can hear the click under the dash but can not locate the box. Guess I will have to bite the bullet and go let a professional take care of it...Hate to do that but thanks again for the responses.

My car key fob got sporadic so I changed the battery. It completely stopped then. I bit the bullet and bought a replacement fob. I am too cheap to throw away a new battery, so I took the new battery out of the old fob. That is when I realized that I had not taken the plastic film off the back of the battery before installing it.

I now have a spare key fob.

    And, yes, DW knows.
  • That black box might also be under the steps or in a front basement. They like to move it around.
  • Under the dash there is a black box with a wire antenna, a button and a tiny push button switch.

You have to push the button three times REALLY REALLY FAST and the LED should blink and come on.

Press the lock button and repeat with second fob.
