Very pretty drive, but a bit longer and slower than going via; 20, 78, 95, 80, 305, 376, 95 (whew, I think I got those right...just Google it from Bend and it will pop up)
Depending how far you want to take 395, you could encounter snow between Topaz and Bishop.
