Usually the earlier in the morning you leave the better it is for wind up until around 11 or 12 noon.
If it's blowing you around a lot, slow down. Got caught in some high winds one time and all of us RVers had slowed down to about 35.
In general if we know there is a bad storm front coming we delay our trip.
Be cautious in cuts through the side of hills, the wind gusts seems to be stronger at those edges.
I ran through a big dust devil one time. Holy cow it blew me to the right and then to the left in a second...Nothing I could do. Great fun...NOT.
