I and others have wondered why motorhome builders can't/won't install some driving amenities into their $300k coaches, like automatic headlights. Wouldn't that be a novel idea.
Our previous coach, a '99 Fleetwood Bounder 34V with the F-53 chassis and Triton V-10 had "Daytime runners" that were 70% of headlight full brightness. Our present coach, an '04 Itasca Horizon 36GD with the C-7 330HP CAT, also has daytime runners that are a percentage of full brightness.
We sold that Bounder over 7 years ago so, I can't remember if it had an alarm if I manually turned the headlights on and, shut down the engine. But, our present coach, the Itasca, DOES have an alarm if I've turned the headlights on and shut down the engine. But, in both cases or, both motorhomes I should say, when it came to early ( pre dawn ) or night time driving, I still had and have to, turn the headlights on.
