dumping black/grey water question

How often can you go w/out dumping? I ask because the the location I usually dump prior to arriving at home was under construction so I couldn't use it. I'm getting back on the road Friday and can dump on my way out. Do I need to dump sooner or can it sit for the week w/out issue (all liquids)?

Good idea, I'll have to try it next summer. It gets to cold here to depend on soap to prevent freezing.

  • I never drive with anything in either tank; just dump then thoroughly rinse and flush at first opportunity.
  • I personally don't like driving with partially full tanks. I will add water and dump rather than keep going until the tank is almost full. No real reason as long as there is plenty of water in the tank.
  • I have gone as long as 2 months with half full tanks between trips. As long as the plumbing is in good working order, it is no problem. If odors are getting into the RV, the plumbing is NOT in good working order.

I would have said 3/4 full, myself.

  • I guess what you are really asking, is can you leave the tanks full for awhile before you dump them.....YES!
Driving around before you dump will also help to break up anything that may have settled in the tanks.

I had my Blank tank filled (but not full) for almost a year before I got to a dump station...and it was fine. I don't recommend this, but I didn't know better at the time....figured I'd just wait until it was FULL.:)
