duncan RV replacement windshields opinions??

I passed a cattle pot a couple of weeks ago and somehow it threw several rocks. Two of which hit my windshields--one rock each window. what are the odds of that?? Over the years I have had a couple of mh windshields replaced. always with original Winnebago glass. this time I am told the glass will come from Duncan systems which I think is a division of Lippertt (makes axles for 5th wheels) Before I get grumpy with my agent--do any of you have an opinion or experience with these after market windshields from Duncan?? thanks in advance. tom
  • I recently replaced a windshield and the glass came from Coach Glass which I believe is in Oregon.
  • I have had 4 windshields replaced by Duncan. Two were at rallies and two in their shop in Elkhart, IN. The shop has a football size warehouse with wind shields skidded in racks. Excellent service everytime.

I wouldn't worry about it. They are only a distributor not a manufacturer. Where they get the glass, who knows? Excess inventory, left over after production ends, secondary manufacture, salvage,,,. As long as the glass is distortion and defect free which I would suspect it will be.

not sure that is true on the new glass in my Winnebago the Duncan name is on the windshield

It is true. The glass manufacturer can put any name on the glass that is needed by those who order it. As far as I could find out Duncan does not manufacture vehicle glass. Also; Note that one size fits many different coaches. There are not that many different windshield sizes made for RVs.
