Earthquake. When does the motorhome rock?

I sat through one. Never noticed it.
Wife and daughter told me about it when they came back from shopping.
Daughter who lives in CA. Said it was a good sizes one also.

Were you in your motorhome when the quake hit?

Your question can't be generically answered. Richter scale is meaningless other than documentation of the event from a given location and that's NOT where the RV is. I was in a Motorhome after the Northridge quake during several large aftershocks as well as the big one on the border several years ago 150 miles away. Yes you feel them and the effect is always different

Never been in motorhome during quake, but have been in my pickup truck near the epicenter of about a magnitude 5. It gave a good sharp kick to the truck @ 70 MPH. Asked friend, did you see a bump? Did you see if we hit something. No.... I hadn't either. Then saw power lines arcing and flashing at night. Got home to read about the quake.

Any moderate plus (felt at your location) quake you would feel in RV. I've felt a lot of earthquakes. They can be a single jolt mild or more. Or they can roll on for many seconds. I went through the Hector Mine earthquake out in desert in a small cabin-it was like the cabin was on a trailer pulled down a rough dirt road. Shaky and noisy. Suspension in RV may smooth it out a bit but any moderate quake will get through.

An OP in Napa had his coach parked "next" to his house. On a quake in the last five years or so, the two "bumped."

We got to feel one a couple years ago. We were staying at the Fullerton Elks Lodge. Site we were in had a good slope to it. Front jacks and tires had about 5" of orange leveling blocks under them. From inside MH it felt like MH was going to fall off the blocks. Shaking seemed to last for 2 minutes. But was probably about 20 seconds. When things settled down. Looking outside there was no damage. Tires and jacks were still where they belonged on the blocks. No damage inside because we were at our friends place for dinner. Had not unpacked anything from the trip to Fullerton. Magnitude was 5.1. We felt after shocks for the next day or 2. But nothing like the original one.
Elks lodge had some ceiling panels fall and a couple windows crack.

7.2 quake, Easter morning a few years back. El Centro, CA. Rocked and rolled. Hard bounceing. Couldn't stay standing up. Was sure jacks and slides damaged after. All was well when over. Slides and jacks worked as normal. Whew. Many 5th wheels knock of stands. It was long and rolling. What ever made me thing I could bring the slides in and jacks up during the quake went out the door as soon as I got knock back down.

That's the same quake I mentioned in my post. I was on the 57 freeway just north of Fullerton when it hit...in my truck.
