Some general ideas to check for:
Make sure nothing is in a bind and causing it to truly be stuck. Check all the seals, the floor rollers, the topper (if you have one), anything that could get bound up and keep the slide from moving. Make sure you are level or close to it. If the coach is slightly twisted or racked, it might bind up the slide as well. You've already confirmed that you have power as you said the motor sounds like it's trying to engage. Check to make sure the linkage bolts are not loose or broken. Check to make sure the motor brake is in the right position.
