this will be hard to beleave , but my frig is wired for 230 v according to the mod number. dometic mod 7651L its always been a problem now we know why. amish cooling company found that the mod number being strange. so I researched the unit. in canada is there electric set up the same as ours?? this MH came new from canada. someplace along the line a big mistake has been made.

Canadian power is the same as ours; otherwise it would be a real nuisance sharing power on the continent. Since the fridge uses 12V for all its controls the only thing that should be affected is the heater when you are using AC. I would guess that the cooling capability on AC might be poor. Is this the case?

yep very poor cooling on ac. I just asked dometic to verify that it is a 230v frig.

Perhaps your refer was intended for the UK which uses 240V.

the refrigerator wiring and the heating unit should be changed. so that the refer will work properly in north america..

Daksuki, Canadian electricity is measured in volts and watts and amps, same as US. Distances and volumes are metric, so when it says "100" on the speed limit sign when you cross the boarder, don't speed up to 100 MPH. The 100 is Kilometres per hour or about 62 MPH.

I believe all the differance is the heater itself. Change the element. The relay and everything else should bee 12vdc. Or am I missing something?
