electric step want move in or out

one electric step want move. Tried battery, fuses, wires. No idea what it might be.
  • You said you tried battery. Which battery?

On my coach the steps are powered by the engine battery.

I see you have a post about Jack's not working also. This suggests that it's electrical. Either dead batteries or possibly a safety interlock problem. Do all the other electric operated devices work?

    roger that. DMM time.

Whack the motor a few times with a hammer. For a while,This worked for me but finally I had the motor replaced. It was not as expensive as I thought it would be to have it replaced. The reason it was not as expensive as I expected was I didn't take it to CW.

  • Mine was dried up grease in the gear box. I dissassembled it, cleaned out the old dry grease, and repacked. Worked ever since.
  • It would help if you told us what kind of coach you have and who manufactured the steps.
